888 JAPANESE BBQ

Located in the old Gyu-Kaku restaurant so same grills as before. Did not try the sushi and went with mostly meat and vegetables the first time here (prime/middle-tier menu). Meat quality was excellent. Vegetables were fresh and already cut (didn’t have to scissor portions). The side portions were fairly generous but don’t expect the same sides as the Korean BBQ places. Unlimited S’mores for dessert? Yes, please! Service was good. Attentive wait-staff making sure you had everything you need. Food came out fairly quickly. They DO have a 90-minute limit they adhere to (yes, got the last-call warning when we were here) but that’s still plenty of time to get your fill. If you want something slightly different from the Korean BBQ AYCE restaurants, come give this place a try. Just make sure to go early or put yourself on the waitlist as the restaurant is very popular.

Oh my goodness! What a Christmas miracle it was to be able to eat here for dinner and to be on the waiting list. I was lucky enough to know about 888 Japanese BBQ through my friend and I dropped by do l after lunch around 2pm to put my name down for dinner. Initially the hostess informed me they stopped taking names for their waiting list but I told her that I called an hour prior and it was first come first serve; never was told it was stop at any given moment. I was eventually quoted A SIX HOUR WAITING TIME; I was 112th on the waiting list at 2:12pm on Christmas Day. That tells you how popular it is and it honestly is such a deal compared to the buffet spots on The Strip. Onto the food, my family and I ordered the Kobe set which was $43.95 per person (kids 4-8 are $27.95). The amount of food and quality of the meat is impeccable for that price, just look at the marbling of the Kobe beef, which by the way, you're only limited to 5 orders for each of the Kobe meats. Everything non-Kobe is still AYCE. All the meat was soft, tender and irresistible. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking to have a good time with friends or family because the restaurant is spacious and the servers are friendly and always ready to help you. The vibe is different than Korean bbq in a way but at the same time, you'll come out smelling like meat. Also, don't forget to check-in on Yelp for free ice cream! I tried the Thai Ice Tea flavor and it was actually good, not too sweet and perfectly balanced!
